For a Harry Potter fan, you could say it’s been a magical season for Brisbane Roar’s 18-year-old starlet Angela Beard.
And you can’t miss the dashing left back with her black pony tail and tough but well-timed tackles for the Queensland side.
Beard made her Westfield W-League debut for the Roar in Round 1 last season (14 September) against Perth Glory at Ashfield Reserve. She was 17 at the time and has now notched 11 first team games.
The defender is yet to score but was a striker as a junior and still has an attacking mindset and hopes to find the net soon for her Brisbane club.
She has toured three times with the Young Matildas and has played nearly 20 games in the green and gold.
Outside of football, she is studying a business/physiotherapy double major with the aim of running her own physio business when she finishes playing.
And in what spare time she has left, Beard is an assistant coach at Brisbane club Eastern Suburbs FC.
A busy person she is.
And she is this month’s nomination for NAB Young Footballer of the Year.
