Western Sydney Wanderers have announced the double signing of Liana Danaskos and Caitlin Jarvie.
23-year-old Danaskos joins the Red and Black from Canberra United and recently plied her trade in the NSW Women’s National Premier League with the Illawarra Stingrays.
The midfielder said it felt good to be home.
“I’m so excited to wear the Red & Black this season as I’ve spent the last few seasons away from home," she told the Wanderers' official website.
"So it’s nice to come home and play in front of my family and friends. I’m really excited to play in front of them and the amazing Wanderers members and fans.
“As an individual, I’d like to cement my spot in the starting line-up. I’m new to the club, so I’m looking forward to learning from the girls in the team.
“I’m so thrilled to have joined a team with such good skill and performance, so I guess the goal as a team is to obviously make finals and go all the way.”
Meanwhile, inaugural Wanderers midfielder Jarvie returns to the club following a recent spell in Spain with C.F. Paradinyes.
“I’m pretty happy to be back, I’ve spent the last two years away from Australian football so it’s good to be back in Australia and I’m looking forward to seeing what the competition is like,” she told the Wanderers' official website .
“A lot of the girls in the team I’ve always played against and they’ve always been the hardest competition, so it’s good to be on their side this season and I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone."
