How to watch USA v Westfield Matildas

The Westfield Matildas take on the United States on Friday afternoon (AEDT) in a colossal clash where two global heavyweights do battle for trans-Pacific bragging rights.

With almost the whole squad having played in the Westfield W-League 2018/19 Season, the Australian club season has given players sufficient preparation for the test ahead.

Australia are coming off the back of a successful, inaugural Cup of Nations tournament as Ante Milicic’s side overcame New Zealand, Korea Republic and Argentina in inspired performances.

The USA are a different kettle of fish, though, as seen by their no.1 ranking in the world which they have held since 23 June, 2017.

While this may strike fear into some teams, the Westfield Matildas have scant reason to be fearful: In their last two fixtures, Australia have registered a 1-1 draw and 1-0 win over Jill Ellis’ side.
