Season over as Canberra's Camila succumbs to knee injury

Brazilian midfielder Camila may have played her last game for Canberra United after the club confirmed she won't play again in the Westfield W-League 2019/20 Season.

In a blow to United's hopes of finishing their season strongly, Camila injured the medial ligament in her left knee in training last week.

Scans revealed the extent of the injury, with the club's medical staff predicting a six week recovery period for the 25-year-old playmaker.

It means she will miss United's last two games of the regular season against both Adelaide United and Brisbane Roar.

She made nine appearances for Heather Garriock's side, who are out of finals contention heading into Round 12.

Camila was member of the Brazilian squad at last year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, having previously represented her country at the FIFA U20’s Women’s World Cup in 2014.
