Kerr, Kennedy in FIFPro top 55 ahead of 2017 Women’s World XI vote

In a poll organized by FIFPro, Westfield Matildas stars Alanna Kennedy and Sam Kerr have been nominated in a list of 55 players from which the 2017 Women’s World XI will be named.

FIFPro will announce the 11 players in the 2017 Women's World XI on March 8, which is also International Women’s Day.

Kerr plays for Perth Glory in the Westfield W-League and Kennedy is with Melbourne City FC.

More than 4100 female players acting at the highest level in 45 countries worldwide voted for this year’s World XI.

The five goalkeepers, 20 defenders, 15 midfielders and 15 attackers who received most votes appear on the list of 55 players.

Kennedy's teammate at Melbourne City last season, Englishwoman Jodie Taylor, is also on the list of 55 players as is Brazilian superstar Marta.

FIFPro is the worldwide representative organisation for all professional footballers; more than 60,000 players in total, male and female.
