Match Preview: Brisbane Roar v Sydney FC

Sydney FC’s poor recent away record in the Westfield W-League will be put to the test when they meet Brisbane Roar on Saturday.

The clash at Lions Stadium will see the Sky Blues aim to break a three-match losing streak on the road - a run in which they have conceded seven goals.

The club’s away struggles are in stark contrast to their home form, with Ante Juric’s side having won their last four, including a 3-0 success over Western Sydney Wanderers last time out.

They have also scored 16 goals in that streak, providing Juric with headaches about why the club’s brilliant home form does not translate on the road.

One of those big home wins came against the Roar, Caitlin Foord scoring a hat-trick in a 5-1 thrashing in December.

This task will likely prove tougher, though, with the Roar sitting second on the table with 17 points - two ahead of Sydney FC - from nine matches.

Roar extended their unbeaten run to four on Friday, withstanding serious Melbourne City pressure before Chioma Ubogagu’s second-half goal gave them a 1-0 win at the Champions.
