Poll results: Canberra's teenage star to edge Westfield Matildas star to Julie Dolan Medal

Ahead of Monday night's Dolan Warren Awards, we asked the fans to vote for the winner of the Julie Dolan Medal.

And according to the public, a rising star of the women's game is set to claim the W-League's highest individual honour.

Canberra United's Ellie Carpenter was the most favoured player among the fans to claim the Julie Dolan Medal as the W-League Player of the season.

The 18-year-old claimed 37% of the votes, narrowly edging out Westfield Matildas teammate and Perth Glory superstar Sam Kerr who earned 31% of the total.

The teenager enjoyed a breakout season in the W-League, playing 10 matches for Canberra United and scoring two goals.
