Round 4 preview: Newcastle Jets v Brisbane Roar

Brisbane Roar go chasing their first win of the campaign as they seek to propel themselves into the Westfield W-League Premiership race when they travel to face the Newcastle Jets on Sunday.

Katrina Gorry, Tameka Yallop and company have impressed in their opening three games but the Queenslanders were unable to find the net in back-to-back 0-0 draws against Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory to start the season.

Westfield Matilda Gorry finally got on the scoresheet against Canberra United in a 1-1 draw against the competition’s form team last Thursday, but it left Jake Goodship’s side still searching for their maiden triumph as they head to the Hunter.

Ash Wilson’s team have fallen to a pair of 2-1 defeats against Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers and the Jets will be battling to get up and running for the season in the first game of this Westfield W-League/A-League double header at McDonald Jones Stadium.
